The town of Nessebar is situated on a small peninsula only 38km. from the city of Bourgas. It's beach, with its marvelous sand dunes, is considered to be the best on the Black Sea coast.
The old city of Nessebar that juts out into the sea is the biggest tourist attraction. It's narrow, paved streets and old, stone and wooden houses give you the eternal feel of the city.
Many landmarks have been preserved and are open for tourists during the season. One of the oldest sights is the Basilica church that was built on the sea shore in the 5th century. Examples of other churches and landmarks are: the Old Bishop's Residence, St. Ivan the Baptist Church, St. Stefan Church, St. Todor Church, St. Paraskeva Church, St. Archangeles Mihail and Gavrail Church and the Pantocrator Church.
On the streets of Nessebar you will find an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and shops. It is only a short drive to Sunny Beach and is a resort where you will enjoy a holiday in very peaceful and natural surroundings.
