FAQ

  • Q: Can foreign nationals own property in Bulgaria?
  • A: Yes, foreign nationals can own as much property in Bulgaria as they wish, however they need to form a company if they wish to purchase land as non-Bulgarians cannot own land directly. For apartments in a building it is not necessary to own any of the land below the building as you have full rights as owner without it.

  • Q: What is the flying time from UK or Ireland to Bulgaria?
  • A: Bulgaria is only a 2 ½ to 3 hour flight from the UK and about 3 to 3 ½ hours from Ireland.

  • Q: Do we need a visa?
  • A: As Bulgaria is now part of the EU you do not need a Visa to visit Bulgaria if you are a resident of another EU member country.

  • Q: Where are the best locations to buy in if I want to rent my Bulgaria property out to holidaymakers?
  • A: The best places to purchase would be in areas of high volumes of tourists and tour operators. The most visited areas are the Black Sea Coast and the Ski Resorts of Bulgaria. These have a strong regular flow of tourists during the holiday seasons.

  • Q: Do I have to come to Bulgaria to purchase a property?
  • A: The majority of our clients do not actually come to Bulgaria to purchase their properties as a large proportion of them are buying for investment only. However we do advise everyone to come to see Bulgaria at some point as they will be pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this country really is and how friendly and accommodating the locals are.

  • Q: How do we reserve a property?
  • A: You will need to pay a deposit of between 1,000 - 2,000 Euros (approx 700 - 1400 Pounds). This ensures that the property is removed from the market and not sold to anyone else. To avoid disappointment this should be done as soon as possible once you have chosen your property.

  • Q: What fees do Coral Estates charge?
  • A: Coral Estates do not charge you anything to purchase a property with us, we are paid by the property vendor and it is always included in the prices that are quoted from all sources.

  • Q: Will we get ownership documents for the property?
  • A: Yes, once complete you will have the title deeds.
